Vietnam will host the annual United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Asia-Pacific Conference on Metropolitan Tourism in 2009.
The nation’s proposal of hosting the event was approved at the 2008 meeting that took place in Kobe , Japan , from June 9-11.
A delegation from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism attended the conference during which participants discussed ways to develop and manage metropolitan tourism in a sustainable manner.
The conference also looked at tourism activities and studies on the tourism labour market in Asia and the Pacific.
Vietnamese delegates also attended the 20th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific and the UNWTO Commission for South Asia.
