The Danish embassy in Ha Noi’s Cultural Development and Exchange Fund (CDEF) has launched this year’s annual Young Talent Prize for Vietnamese performance artists.
The contest is open to Vietnamese citizens aged 35 and under. Each entrant must submit a supporting statement explaining the meaning and inspiration for their ideas. Their performance must be an original work and should not have been performed in public before the contest.
Visual artists like Dao Anh Khanh, Tran Luong, and Nguyen Nhu Huy and one representative from the embassy will choose 10 candidates for the final.
The 10 will each receive US$500 to prepare for the final on October 16. The best performance as voted by the audience will get $3,000.
CDEF has been running this competition for the last five years to provide direct support for contemporary artists and performances in Viet nam
