Ho chi minh City’s Can Gio district, an outskirt zone enjoying little tourism investment so far, is set to have 23 new entertainment projects operational after 2010, said the local government.
There are already seven finished projects there, mostly located in the 30/4 beach.
Can Gio has great potentials to develop ecotourism, boasting vast mangrove forests which have not yet been exploited to the full, the district administration added.
Therefore, the zone has been unsuccessful in luring tourists who, more often than not, do not spend the night there.
Official figures show foreign tourists there take up 20% while the number of tourists increases 25% annually.
