US friends impressed with Vietnamese foods and drinks

A number of special Vietnamese dishes were introduced to US friends at an event highlighting Vietnamese food and drinks organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in the US on July 29.

More than 100 visitors, including governmental officials and representatives from many business organizations, got the opportunity to taste and enjoy traditional Vietnamese dishes.

Apart from food and drinks, several videos of cultural festivals and the traditional costumes of different ethnic groups in Vietnam were shown during the event along with a number of Vietnamese folk songs.

The wives of Vietnam’s diplomatic corps in the US, who prepared the dishes, also passed on the recipes of some simple dishes.

This is the first time that the Vietnamese Embassy in the US has held such an event which aimed to promote the Vietnamese cultural values.
